Let It Be So

You are about to do something in our day that we would not believe…even if You would have told us us……..

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Habakkuk 1:5 “Look among the nations and watch-Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days, which you would not believe, though it were told you.”

Acts 13:41 ” ….For I work a work in yours days, a work which you will by no means believe, though one were to declare it to you.”

For the Lord says: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you, the gentiles shall come to your light, and the kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3

Farewell for now and AMEN

Living Water

I grew up around bodies of water. Our home was in the hills of a subdivision of which we all shared a small private lake. On our way to town overlooked one of the largest body of waters in our state. To say I grew up on the water is accurate. From fishing, swimming, swim lessons, boating, ice skating and ice fishing. I didn’t have a love for the water like some do. I did enjoy it more from a far by looking at its beauty. The hills and mountains towering  over the lakes and reflecting its part back onto the water. We learned to respect the waters around us and the dangers it could bring. Swimming lessons upon swimming lessons were a given even if you could teach them. All get togethers from birthdays to weddings, picnics, reunions, and barbecues were surrounded by these waters. It was life as we knew it. Taken for granted.

When my husband wanted to purchase a boat and be out on the water recently I wasn’t excited. I didn’t really enjoy the water. It wasn’t my first thing to think of if I were to choose an outing. I’d rather go hiking and exploring on land. But it was a dream of my husbands and his late dad had the same love for being on it. So I went with it.

Its funny how HE works sometimes. For the last several years I have heard Him whisper in my ears of water….Living Water!!

Whispering… “Look above the waves, focus on ME”! He uses a lot of songs to direct me and I think I have come across every wave, water, and ocean song out there that points to HIM! HE has showed me not to keep my eyes on whats going on in this world right now for too long. Yes, we need to not to be oblivious of the tribulations but we need to get back to our eyes being fixed on HIM. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He has the whole world in HIS hands and nothing happens without HIM knowing.

Whispering…” Stand firm and look at ME’! One thing that physically ails me is motion sickness the last 10 years. It was debilitating for about 6 years but has slowly been getting better. So a boat didn’t sound fun not knowing how my body would react. DIVINE is all I can say. I have not been sick once on the boat and we have been on some pretty rough water. One thing I learned is while standing up and keeping my eyes on the horizon I am more stable to the motion around me when we are on the water. When I take my eyes off HIM, my horizon, I start spiraling down to a sitting position unable to move because of the tribulations going on in this world. HE reminds me in Ephesians 6:13 ” Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Notice it says if you stand now you will stand in the end!

Whispering…”Perspective. You need to look at situations through MY eyes. To have a different perspective.” Whoa! That’s a lot a work….if you do it on your own strengths, ways and thoughts. If we are willing to search out HIS will, HIS ways he wants us to learn, He will give them to us. I didn’t want a boat, but I made a sacrifice for my husband to just go with it after I fought the idea for quit some time. One thing I have learned is that if you are diligently following HIM HE doesn’t just let time be wasted so I trusted HE would teach me “perspective” through our time on HIS  living waters. I get bored easily so I decided to go to the back of the boat and sit facing backwards and see where we had been, not where we were going. This is where I got my lesson in ‘perspective, a different perspective”. HE showed me where I had been and where He has taken me. HE showed me where we, my husband and I,  had been as a couple and have grown, where we had come from as parents and being done raising them but still guiding them, HE even showed me financially things are different as we don’t have a house full of children we are responsible for… so we can afford boat. I was so thankful for these reminders and revelations. I honestly felt a bit guilty having recreation time when our world seemed to be falling apart all around every one of us. As it was touching all of us in some way or another I was out on a boat. Not just recreating as I soon learned but  learning from HIM on HIS living waters.

Whispering…”Rest in ME and drink from MY living waters…I want to fill your cup so that it is running over.” How humbling this is even when I didn’t understand the depth of it. Rest? Rest when the nations are out of control? YES! If we are looking around and not paying attention to HIM, who “charts our waters” or guides our journeys as pilgrims just passing through in this world we will not find rest. It was a bit windy out on the boat one morning and I was getting bored and let myself get distracted with looking at my phone, looking at the seashore and then the seagulls flying around when my husband yelled at me to “turn, turn to the left!!!” I turned left just as we were going over a huge wave that just about got into the boat from a side-wise angle. Not only did I not realize the wind was picking up and a huge wave was coming for us, I had gotten us a bit off course to where we had wanted to fish. If I was resting in what I needed to be doing and the surroundings I needed to be focusing on I wouldn’t have been uneasy (okay, fearful) of another wave coming our way the rest of the day in the water. Lesson learned in the natural and in the spirit! When we are resting in HIM and HIS offerings of filling us up to the brim that we are overflowing it doesn’t matter whats going on around us, we are at peace with the course HE sets before us. We can be at a resting state in HIM if we are in HIS will or looking to be back in HIS will. I am learning about this rest myself. I do believe HE isn’t just talking in general that we are too busy and need rest. HE is saying, “Come to ME, all who are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Rest with all HIS blessings and gifts that we need to stay the course, to persevere, to finish the race set before us…. “MY Living Waters of blessings and gifts so you are able to hold onto the crown of life.” He does not leave us empty handed wondering how were gonna get through these days ahead….as HE whispered to me “…I WANT to give you…”. He WANTS to give us blessings and gifts, it is there for the taking, so take it, learn to rely on HIS Living Waters.

Time is short- let HIM not find us sitting down in want. Let us allow HIM to fill our cups to overflowing and may HE find us pointing to HIM for all he glory!

Revelations 3:11 “Behold, I AM coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

I am reminded of a dream I have had on several occasions. I dream that I am living in a house and eventually discover a basement I didn’t release I had. It has boxes of  treasures of various kinds. Some are treasures I have forgotten about that I had. Some are newly discovered treasures. In one of these dreams I lay out all the items so they can be seen. I invite a dear friend of mine to come see them and she wants all the most valuable ones to which I gladly give her without question. I watch her walk away with all my best treasures and am weighed down with a great burden. I wake up distraught and hear His gentle words, “Why did you give your most treasured gifts away?” What? I thought I was suppose to share and give my best to others? He answered “I gave them to you… for you and for Me. So that I can do a work in you to glorify Me”. Oooooohhhh! Your talking about a different kind of gift. It was something I had never thought of. I still ponder on this and can’t wrap my brain around it completely. He gives me bits and pieces to this puzzle as he sees fits.

Today He has showed me the TRUTHS that I am to treasure deep in my heart no matter what others see, believe, or think. These truths set me free of mans thinking, ways and opinions. The truths that keep me going. The truths that give a hope I can’t explain nor need to cause they are little treasures he has given me. They help me to have courage to endure, to be bold to speak to others or to be silent when need be. The truth of who I am in Him that only He can see. They keep me going….or should, unless I give them away or hide them in boxes. They help me overcome!

Revelations 3:12 “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.”

He is looking for overcomers. Ones who have persevered. Ones who have fallen but pick themselves back up and look to Him, to finish out their race He has set before them,  no matter what the world looks like. He gives us all kinds of treasures/gifts to help us be overcomers! Some he gives so we can freely give to others without question. Some He gives us to keep in our hearts that sets our friendship with Him apart from earthly friendships.

Ask Him today what treasures has He given to you? Ask Him to show you which ones you have hidden away in boxes that you  need to unwrap and use? Which ones do you hide in your heart for just you and Him? Which ones do you  share for His glory and purpose?

A Trumpet Sounding……

My prayer for all of us is to have genuine, Godly understanding of His Word and discernment of the times.

In history a watchmen was put on high walls or in watchtowers to keep watch and warn the people of any attacks or impending threats by sounding a trumpet or rams horn. They also warned of strangers approaching. They would meet up with them to see if they were friends or enemies. The city could rest at night or go on with their daily affairs with ease as they knew they were being watched out for. In the same sense a spiritual watchmen is one who has been equipped by God to see, hear and then warn by “blowing the trumpet.” Ezekiel 33:7 NKJV “So you, son of man (or daughter of man): I have made you a watchmen for the house of Israel (all of His people)therefore you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them for Me.” (because He loves you more than you can understand or fathom)

Ezekiel 33:1-7 NKJV Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon the land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall not be o n his own head (the watchman’s). He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall  be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes them away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’ “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them for Me.…” NKJV

WARNING: JUDE (NIV) 1b To those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. 2b I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend (to defend) for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people,  who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. 1 JOHN(NIV) 2:22-23 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist- denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father. (these people can look like believers even in the church but are not). JUDE(NIV) 5 Though you already know this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling-these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah  and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. 8 In the very same way, on the strength of their own dreams  these people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. 9 But even the archangel Michael when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander(even though Satan is inferior to him) but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand by instinct-as irrational animals do-will destroy them.( in other words they are guided by their own instincts and not the Holy Spirit). 11 Woe to them (a warning that judgment is coming)! They have taken the way of Cain (to live for themselves); they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error (consuming greed); they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion (rising up against Gods appointed leadership). 12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts (gatherings of believers at feasts, Lords Supper and celebrations afterwards) eating with you without the slightest qualm, shepherds who feed only themselves. (they are the kind that don’t hide their depravity for only the dark hours but come out in broad daylight to deceive us.)  They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted-twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. Continuing on with JUDE 16 These people are grumblers and fault finders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. 17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

The Day of The Lord                                                                                                                              2 Peter 3-4 (NIV) 3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. (WARNING: some will not believe He is returning and will persuade others, they will also believe in a great revival where all will be well again in the USA, therefore not in need of a “coming”). Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 NKJV ” Let no one deceive you by any means;  for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so  that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.  Continuing with 2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one  thing, dear friends: with the Lord is like a thousands years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by the fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

The Great Apostasy” spoken of  in 1 Timothy 4 NKJV 1 Now the spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with  a hot iron, 3 forbidding  to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (basically Paul is saying that false teachers don’t know right from wrong, are demonic in spirit causing people to believe their false beliefs….some will even consciously turn from the truth).

The bible talks about even the elect will be deceived. Mark 13:22-23 NKJV “For false christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.”

In Matthew 24 the disciples asked when all these things would happen and Jesus replied “Take heed that no one deceives you”. He says many will come in His name to deceive many and many will believe them. He talks about the beginning of birth pains comparing a woman’s labor to the signs to look for. Most births increase in intensity and frequency.  Slow at first then building up to closer and harder to almost agonizing before the child is born. Just as these signs on the earth will start out slow, to the point they are hard to see by some. Then much faster and not so subtle till it climaxes to out of control. How can we know for sure what is what? Read the Word! Pray for Holy Spirit to give you discernment. When? Now! If you wait it may be too late. Just as the virgins, in Matthew 25, who were well equipped in having enough oil for their lamps as they were waiting for their Bridegroom (Jesus), we all need to have our lamps lit with plenty extra oil to endure the false teachings that we run into everyday. Don’t be like the virgins who were not ready by not taking oil with them to keep their lamps lit. The were ill prepared and did not get to meet their Bridegroom.

Let me make this clear to you: HE HAS SPOKEN- we are in the days of such high falseness.  Do not be unawares!!!

Luke 24: 44-45 NKJV 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

What comes to mind when you hear the word crown? Some would think of a tooth crown if they just had a recent dentist appointment. A young girl would immediately  think of a tiara type crown a princess would wear. One that is shiny and fashioned with sparkling diamonds. An older girl would think of the one she wore to a formal dance or as a bride to accent her dress and beauty. A man might think of a sturdy metal plated crown with jewels encircling it and signifying one with authority.

There are two greek meanings of crown. One is diadema, referring to the crown worn by a king. This crown is not earned, it is given from a birthright. The second is called stephanos, referring to a crown that is given to an athlete. One that is earned by a personal victory. When I think of a crown, I think of the one a Bride of Christ can wear. Not just one crown but many crowns. That is if the Bride earned any.

The Scriptures speak of crowns we can earn. These crowns will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ:

~2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all (believers) appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. *(purpose of the judgment is not to determine salvation of a believer but of their works)

~Revelation 22:12 Jesus says, “, Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Crown of Righteousness

2 Tim. 4:8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. (the believers who are waiting and are ready for His return)

Incorruptible or Imperishable Crown

1 Cor. 9:25-27 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they  do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for and imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. (the believers who have disciplined and brought their bodies into subjection, self-control)

Crown of Life

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Rev. 2:10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. ( a martyrs crown, those who patiently endured thru the tribulations of trials, testings, and temptations)

Crown of Glory

1 Peter 5:2-4 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over these entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. (this is talking about anyone who was entrusted with a sheep who led by Godly example: pastors, teachers, leaders, parents, ect. Matt. 5:19 says…anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Crown of Rejoicing

1 Thessalonians 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His Coming?

Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament(sky), and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…(obeying Jesus’ great commission).

As I have researched crowns outside of the Bible I have ran into many opinions that we are not to focus on our crowns cause that would be works. If we are focused on works then it would self centered, not being humble and on and on. However we need to listen to the Lord and His teachings and not mans teachings. In Rev.3:11 Jesus says to the faithful church, “I am coming soon. Hold onto what you have so that no one takes your crown.” So why would Jesus say it is important to hold on to your crown when it doesn’t get us into Heaven or earn our salvation? One reason being it is our gift to Him when we arrive into eternity. Besides ourselves being presented to Him, we can lay our crown or crowns down at His feet as a special gift to Him. The only one who is worthy  to wear them. If it wasn’t for His constant guidance and continual presence around us we would not have those crowns.

Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord and not onto men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. ( Our inheritance is being with Him as part of His family in our Heavenly home for eternity. The promise of crowns is to us who labor for Him.) Others will see our good works, good fruits, and good deeds. We can’t help this. It is truly a heart issue…are you serving man or serving Adonai, your Lord?

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where theives do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your HEART will be also.”

Salvation was a free gift to us from God thru His Son for all who repent. The least we can do is live for Him, to allow His image to reflect in us thru the way we live. So we can earn a crown that we can present Him with in exchange for the crown of thorns he wore for us.

I like to think that the crowns are a way of Adonai, Our Lord, saying..” I see you, I watch you, I am always with you, I know what you are doing for me, what you are enduring in my name.” ~ Amen and praise be to You, Our King….who will one day wear our crowns.~

Into His aching arms

We all have longed for something, for a certain something that sometimes we can’t attain. We desire to have that longing come to pass. Ever since my first children were born and being raised I had a longing to have grandchildren. I am not sure where or how this longing grew in me, it just did. I believe God showed me how important it was to be a grandmother in His kingdom by passing on our wisdom and love that He had shared with us. Also by seeing some of my older christian mentors be such amazing Gramas.

Yes, I am a grammy to a beautiful 15 mth old girl. She is so precious to us. We do not know her well as they live a few hours away and time does not allow us to meet up as often as we would like. Our grand baby and her loving parents were coming to stay with us over night for Christmas. I was so excited the whole 2 mths before the time came. We all prepared for the moment. And in my mind I was creating moments with her that hadn’t even happened yet.

So the big day had arrived, they were to get in about 8pm, but the weather delayed them. So we waited and waited. Finally close to 10ish we see their lights pulling in. I think we literally sprinted out he door to see who could grab her first. She had been sleeping and was tired and cranky, only mom and dad were to suffice her. So I went to bed not with visions of opening gifts but of holding that grand baby of mine. Morning came and it took hours for her to feel comfortable to walk around by herself without feeling to nervous around us. We all tried. I tried to give her silly faces, silly sounds, loving touches, treats and on and on. I longed to hold her, sing to her and just love on her. My arms ached for my sweet grand baby. I finally got exhausted with trying and realized there was others to give my energy to. I had to move on.

Is this how Jesus feels? Are His arms aching for us to come to Him? To hear Him in that small, still and quiet voice? To commune with Him? To laugh with Him? Yes, he has an amazing sense of humor! To feel His presence and recognize His blessings He bestows on us? I know how I felt when my arms were empty and aching for my grand baby to love me back.

We had her for 3 days to ourselves in September, prior to Christmas, while her mom and dad were on a trip. She was younger and not so aware of the need of her parents as she was at Christmas time. We could console her, she needed us, loved us, and wanted us. So I knew how it was to be close to her to only have her change and grow in just a few months and have that wonderful relationship and communing be gone.

Is that how our Jesus feels? We are walking and talking with Him, needing Him, wanting Him and then letting go. We get busy, frustrated, maybe sinned and feel ashamed so we turn from Him. Or we just temporarily move on to “bigger and better things”?

I  think about those woman who can’t have children. The arms that are aching more than I can even imagine. Aching for not having their own children in their loving, tender arms.

Is that how our Jesus feels? Wanting to hold a child in His arms , whom He loves, and knowing they will never come to Him.

I got a glimpse of how He might feel with His aching arms reaching out to us, only to be empty. He created us and longs for a relationship with us. I love my grand baby…..but I am reminded in 1 John 4:19 that we love Him because He first loved us. If He didn’t show us love we would have never known what love is. He deserves for us to come sit at His feet. This reminds me of a few lyrics of Catherine Mullins song SIT AT YOUR FEET….”Just to sit at Your feet and stay here awhile, lost in the moment with You, breath in Your fragance and taste of Your goodness to know that I won’t be denied, I know I am not denied….and how I love You and how I want You and how my soul longs for You…..”

Don’t deny Him….Seek His face, fall at his feet, run into His arms…because He will not deny you.

“This is My Story, This is My Song” Pt.2

Continued from Part 1…We all have a story. We can write our own story or we can let the Creator help us write it..or better yet ask The Creator what His will is for your life and ask for Him to guide you down it. Well, I can say I have done all the above.

I did not grow up in a Christian home.  A hardworking dad and mom, who were good people, raised my sister and I. They were baptized when they got married but that was the extent I ever knew of them to go to church. They knew enough to know that it would be a good idea to allow the neighbors to take us to church from time to time. We had one family take us to a charismatic Church full of the Holy Spirit and emotions and another neighbor took us to a Baptist Church full of strict rules and straight faces. I liked the churches enough to know I wanted to be a part of it so I showed interest by wanting to go to a lunch bible study when I was in elementary school. Not soon after making a choice to follow these church goers my parents moved closer into town and I had no neighbors to take us to church anymore.

My sister left for college and I was alone to watch my parents marriage fall apart. They both dived into their jobs and I was utterly alone. Alone. I looked for love in all the wrong places and did things to sooth my changed life. I got new friends who would accept me for whatever was going on with my life and things escalated from there. Those bad choices created a lot of problems but one of them was a creation of my first son. He was the light of my world. Something to hold very close and love. He also loved me back and needed me in ways I never knew existed. A year or so after he was born I started to get mixed up with the wrong crowd again, out of complete loneliness. One night after I dropped my son off to my loving older friends, I found myself high on drugs that I had never had before, my body wasn’t handling them very well so I asked for somebody to get me home. I laid there on the floor of my home shaking uncontrollably, in agonizing pain , complete fogginess and sheer sickness. I don’t remember if I cried out to God or He just showed up from His amazing grace and mercy……but He did, in the form of Jesus in His glory of light, I could not see who it was, although I could look directly at the glory of light, but just knew Who it was. He spoke to me in my mind and spirit and said “you have to stop doing these things now, you are gonna lose your son and you are gonna lose your life if you don’t.” That was enough for me.

After that I never touched drugs again or hung-out with people who did. The Lord started to bring Christians back into my life. I only knew God before this incident, I never knew who Jesus was. So we together started the journey of my relationship with Him, not just with God the Father……but Jesus the Son. And eventually the Holy Spirit. How could I ever be alone again when I got these three in one beings who want to be with me and live in me all the time? I had been writing my story and allowing others to all my life…but not anymore.  The Author of the universe was willing to write my story if I allowed Him to…and so I did. So the journey of a love story began……..and the song is still singing on.

A pause…….

The Lord put it on my heart to write a brief story of my testimony after my last post. I was not excited in doing it but knew I must out of obedience to Him. I got off the hook for a little while due to Him putting a pause, an intermission or the scriptures use the words selah or salah in my families path. There seems to be some disputes on what those words selah and salah mean in the scriptures. I am not a theologian but doing some research and having God bring that word to light in the mist of our trials makes me think I am somewhat on the right track.

My husband got into a farming accident back in mid March. It resulted in 3 surgeries and a partial amputation of his leg, just below his knee. It is now October and I am just getting back to this writing.  A “selah” has been put in our lives but we are getting back to our “new normal.”

God will allow us to go thru things that cause us to pause and see Him, truly see Him. To know Him as He is and as He should be known. We got a first hand glimpse on how sovereign He is.

Sovereign is one who possesses supreme authority. He is independent in and of Himself. He does not need any external authority or influences of any kind to help Him.  Based on those definitions we can say He is in complete control.

~Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.~ We have learned and been given so much during this time….abundant love from Him, our family, neighbors, people we did not know and others we hadn’t heard from for a while. He blessed us with amazing doctors, nurses and staff. God graciously blessed us financialy thru many means to help pay for extra expenses. I could go on and on of the blessings He gave and also allowed us to see so we would not look at all the negative and dwell there in the depths of it. It is now past October and getting into January as I try to finish this long-awaited post. I know that He will continue to bless us thru this tragedy with many lessons to woo us to know Him more and more.

~Daniel 4:35 All the inhabitants(people) of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of the heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have you done?”~ As humans we like to ask questions and want answers to those questions. God in His all-knowing sovereignty restrained us from asking the whys and gave us a peace that surpasses all understanding. So instead of pondering the whys, He rather had us just be in the moment on a minute by minute bases. When we left His protecting presence and wanted to ponder those whys He so graciously brought us back under His protective wings. Under those  sovereign wings that say,”I AM sovereign and I got this.”

~Jeremiah 29:11 I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.~ We wondered what the future held as far as work for my husband,  how much will he be able to work ect. ect. He took care of us every step of the way. Psalms says He is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Meaning we only see as far as He(lamp) shows us and a lamp doesn’t give off too much light, just enough to see where to go….one step at a time. My husband is back to work, full-time on the farm. Working right along with the others and keeping up, but in different ways. It’s a “new normal” that has formed. What a huge blessing, a true miracle that he is back to work so soon.

~Romans 9:20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to Him who formed it,”Why have you made me like this?”~ We are Gods people, He made us, He can do what He wants with us. We truly believe this. We may not like it but we do know that He knows what He is doing. We still have ups and downs, esp my husband, but we know that the all Sovereign God is writing our story and what He has started He will finish. So we wait with anticipation for the lessons we will learn and the plans He is unfolding and will unfold for our future.

I have always prayed that my husband will have the youth like Caleb (Joshua 14:11)did in his older years as he had in his younger years…I am beleiving that God will allow this for him. Praise be to God in the highest!

“This is My Story, This is My Song…”Pt.1

We have all heard or said “the past is in the past” or “leave it in the past” or “move on, go forward.” These are all wise sayings, as they are true. I could give you a  handful of verses that confirms these sayings. However, the Lord does work in mysterious ways does He not? Isaiah 55:8 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts…”.

As I wrote in my first post on this blog, I have had to deal with physical elements in the past several years. After a time I started to try to regain my strength by doing light walking, slowly building up to climbing up our hill behind our house. Looking up at the rather steep hill, until I got conditioned, I knew I would have to take small breaks then move on till I got to the top. Till one day I could go without taking a break! Having been athletic in my younger years I always have enjoyed pushing myself with endurance…just  a little faster, just a little longer ect. So when I got to the point that I could walk up the hill verily fast, almost a slow jog without stopping, there was no slowing down. Till the Lord in His mysterious ways stopped me dead in my tracks.

In my spirit I heard Him say, “stop, turn around, and see where you have been.” Ugh, umm, okay, I guess. So I did as I was told. I seen that I didn’t make it too far, but enough to make a difference and also thankful that I could go that far. Realizing I needed to know how much better I was, He was healing me!! So moving on up the hill in large strides and being so thankful He brought to remembrance where I was physically not to long ago! Thank you Lord was in my heart. Then again “stop, turn around, and see where you have been.” Really? “Sit down!” He said. But I am almost to the top, I can sit down there was my thoughts. So because He is God , I obeyed. So I sat and waited for His voice and He slowly brought where I had been in my past and where I was now. I was so thankful for Him to remind me all that He had done and of course for speaking to my spirit. After sharing how thankful I was I moved on up the hill again. Ready to be up at he top and spend some more time with Him there. Just about 20 feet away from the top again He speaks to my spirit,” stop, turn around, see where you have been and listen to where you are going.” I obeyed, by sitting down. I waited for His still small voice this time, knowing at this point He had much to share with me. He reminded me of where I was , more about being brought up out of a bad past and shared of where He wanted to take me. Thank goodness I obeyed….cause He blessed me so very much by giving a small glimmer of light into the path He was taking me down.

I did finally reach the top… and you can imagine the sweetness of our time together up there on that hill. So it is good at times to remember where we have been, where we are at in present and  to remember past victories He has brought us thru.  This brings me to my story, the story he has recently asked me to share…..

“Are you cleansed by My blood?”

He asks us “are your garments made clean by My blood, the blood of the Sacrificial Lamb?”

Mark 8:36  ” For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?”

  • KNOW: that God made you (Psalms 100:3)
  • ADMIT: that your a sinner (Romans 3:23)
  • CONFESS your sins (Psalm 139:23-24)
  • BELIEVE:that Jesus went to the cross for YOU (Isaiah 53:5-6)
  • BELIEVE: that He rose from the dead (Acts 2:22-24,36)
  • TRUST:that having received Christ in your life, you can not be snatched out of the Father’s hand or the seal of the Holy Spirit cannot be broken…

Jesus said, “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish: neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand…” John 10:28-29

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,  to the praise of His glory.

  • DEDICATE your life to pleasing God and doing His will…..

Col:2:6-7 As  you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith…

Col:3:12-17 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering: bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell on you richly in all wisdom teaching and admonishing on another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

~Revelation 3: 5-6  He who overcomes shall be clothed in the white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name  to My Father and before His angels. HE WHO HAS AN EAR LET HIM HEAR…….
